Puerto Madryn (in which arrived a Welsh Colony at the end of the XIX century that was the starting point of a new life) is nowadays a modern city with 75.000 inhabitants, situated on the shores of the balmy Golfo Nuevo.

The port industry of this city is developed in the Almirante Storni and Comandante Luis Piedra Buena piers. In the Almirante Storni pier operates boats that have big length and burden. It is possible to unload general goods in containers, in bulk, and also sea products, frozen loads. The Comandante Luis Piedra Buena pier is destined for tourist cruisers, sportive boats and ships of the Armada Argentina and Prefectura Naval Argentina.
