The reconditioning of the pier superstructure, whose main function is to be the access bridge to the tourist pier, meant the reconstruction of a 125,60 m long section (Sector A), a 6 m wide road and a 1 m wide pavement on the southern side. Both are made of concrete and complemented with metal guard rails defences on the north side and a 1, 20 m tall metal veranda on the southern side.
In Sector B, which is 221,50 m long, the pavement was enlarged to 2,40 m wide and the road to 6 m. Both areas have a 7.5 cm concrete layer with a steel net.

The operating pier, which is 100, 6 m long and 16 m wide, was recovered. The 21 concrete beams were repaired making a covering box around them and 6 berthing places were built for small and medium boats. These sites were built with 12 piles that “sew” the existent structure, giving it the capacity of standing horizontal forces. In order to improve the structural rigidity, the upper layer was rebuilt and it is 25 cm thick.

Mooring place for the Coast Guard boats: so as to have a permanent presence of the coast guards in the Golfo Nuevo area, an exclusive berthing place for their big boats was built. The Coast Guard has destined a boat type 24 which is 67m long for Puerto Madryn city.

Mooring place for the Argentinean Navy: there is a permanent place for the navy due to the building of an additional structure in the north side of the viaduct. This structure was planned considering the corvettes type MEKO 140 the navy has. As the viaduct was not designed to stand horizontal forces, any structure capable to transmit this kind of force had to be isolated. An additional trapezoidal operating yard was built. Its mooring front is 48, 40 m long and 7, 71 m wide.

The tourist pier consists of the central pier and the moorings T1 and T3 (on the southern and northern side of the viaduct) and another mooring T2 situated at 100m to the east (in the sea) on the pier axis. The central pier is a platform, 28 m wide and 120 m long. There are 4 mooring bollards on the southern side and 4 on the northern one with a capacity of 60 tonnes.
In the south-west extreme there is a small office with toilets and a transforming substation. The electrical power is of 13, 2 v until it reaches a transformer of 200 v located in the substation.
