DRINKING WATER SUPPLY
The pier has a water distribution net to supply vessels. Using a pressurized pump, it has a flow of 25 and 30 m3/h per intake. The main pipe is 4” of diameter and it is made of reinforced plastic. The pipes connecting the different intakes are made of galvanized steel and the connection intakes are made of bronze. At the entrance of the pier there is a reserve water tank of 500 m³.
Water is continuously supplied by Cooperativa de Servicios Públicos (Public Services Society of Puerto Madryn - SERVICOOP) in an approximate volume of 3500-4000 m3/month, what easily covers the present needs. All the slots have measurers. There are 3 on each side of the pier.
In the area for sport boats there are 4 more intakes, 2 on each side.

GENERATOR SET
In case of an emergency, the Port Administration has a transportable 380 V/220V. 50 Hz Diesel generator set of 450 Kva.

LIGHTS
The light system consists of 25 columns with sodium gas lamps of 250 w. The cruises berthing place has 2 light posts which are 25 m high and have 4 mercury lamps of 2000 w each.
The area for sport boats has 2 light posts with 1 mercury lamp of 2000 w and 2 of 400 w each.
The system is automatically turned on by photoelectric cells.

TRANSPORT SERVICE WITHIN THE PIER
When the cruises arrive, the administration offers a free service to the entrance of the pier for passengers and crew. It works from the arrival of the ship till it leaves.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY SERVICE
At the arrival of any cruise and during the first 2 hours of its stay, there is an equipped ambulance with a driver and a paramedic in the pier. Then, there is a service of “protected area” what means that in case of an emergency an ambulance is available in 5’. This service assists anybody within the Piedra Buena pier.

FIRE PREVENTION SYSTEM
There is a fire prevention system that uses sea water, which is pumped up by an electrical submersible pump type FLYGT of 90 m3/h flow and pressure of 6 K/cm2.
The system covers the area from the cruises berthing place to the area for sport boats, with hydrants of 2, 1/2”. There are two on the northern berthing place and two on the southern one. Two more are located in the area belonging to the Argentinean Navy and two in each side of the sport boats sector.
